Doesn't Isis do something similar to Ra? But she poisons him to trick him into giving her his secret name which is the only thing that can cure him.

Interesting... I think I know the least about Egyptian stories out of all the stories, for some reason. But the female spirit with the upper hand is a theme I keep my eye out for these days for sure. Also meant to reply to this so long ago.

I like the quote from My Big Fat Greek Wedding about this... "the man is the head, but the woman is the neck. She can turn the head any way she wants."

Ha! That's gorgeous.

As a coping mechanism, it seems, men convinced themselves cunning was inferior to might, and even somehow less holy. This was a big reason why Odin was powerful and terrifying - he was the only male who knew woman magic!
